📍 You are here: Part 18 of 50+ — eBay Product Research: Complete Masterclass
In this guide you will learn: What Algopix does differently · Cross-marketplace analysis · When to use Algopix
What Makes Algopix Different
Every tool we've covered so far — ZIK, AutoDS, Yaballe, Terapeak — focuses primarily on eBay. Algopix takes a different approach: it analyzes the same product across multiple marketplaces simultaneously.
Enter a product name, UPC, or ASIN and Algopix shows you how that product performs on:
- eBay (US, UK, Germany, Australia)
- Amazon (US, UK, Germany, Canada, Australia)
- Walmart (US)
This cross-marketplace view is powerful because it reveals arbitrage opportunities — a product that sells poorly on Amazon but well on eBay UK, for example.
What Algopix Analyzes
Algopix Data Points Per Product
1–100 score estimating how easily the product will sell on each marketplace
How many other sellers are active + how dominant they are
Market-calibrated suggested selling price per marketplace
Estimated net profit after marketplace fees (not sourcing cost)
Growing / Stable / Declining trend signal per marketplace
Flags if the product has known marketplace restrictions or shipping limitations
How to Search on Algopix
Algopix accepts several input types:
- Product name/keyword — broad search, returns multiple matching products
- UPC barcode — most accurate for branded products found in retail stores
- ASIN — Amazon Standard Identification Number, perfect for Amazon-to-eBay arbitrage research
- EAN — European Article Number, useful for EU sourcing
Barcode/ASIN input gives the most precise cross-marketplace comparison. Keyword search is useful for discovery but produces broader, less precise results.

Algopix offers a free plan that allows a limited number of product lookups per day. For occasional research, this is genuinely useful. The free plan covers:
- 10 product lookups per day
- All marketplaces included (eBay, Amazon, Walmart)
- Demand score, competition score, recommended price
The paid plans (5–9/month) add bulk research (upload CSV of UPCs), historical trend data, API access, and higher daily lookup limits.
When Algopix Beats Other Tools
Algopix is particularly strong in these scenarios:
Scenario 1: Retail Arbitrage
You're in a Walmart store with a barcode scanner app. You scan a clearance item (), enter the barcode into Algopix on your phone. Within 15 seconds you know: eBay demand score 72, competition medium, recommended price 9.99, estimated profit .40 after fees. You buy 5 units.
Scenario 2: Amazon-to-eBay Arbitrage
You find an Amazon product with a BSR (Best Seller Rank) that suggests it sells well. Enter its ASIN into Algopix → see its eBay performance. If eBay demand is strong and fewer sellers are there, you have a cross-marketplace opportunity.
Scenario 3: Multi-Marketplace Seller
If you sell on both eBay and Amazon, Algopix helps you allocate inventory — sending more units to whichever marketplace shows higher demand that week.
Action Step
Sign up for Algopix's free plan (no credit card required). Take 5 products you already know sell well on eBay. Enter each into Algopix and check the Amazon performance. Are any of them also strong on Amazon? That data tells you if expanding to Amazon is worth pursuing for those specific products.
